The Japan-America Society of Tennessee was established in 2000 to promote mutual cultural understanding and friendship between the residents of Japan and Tennessee. It is a 501(c)3 non-profit, public benefit organization funded by corporate ・ and individual membership fees. Co-Honorary Presidents include Governor Bill Lee and Consul General Shinji Watanabe of the Consulate General of Japan in Nashville. The Japan-America Society of Tennessee is governed by a volunteer board of directors from leading corporations, organizations, and associations.
