** Choose How You Move is Approved by Nashville Voters
------------------------------------------------------------
It’s a big week for Nashville--with residents voting overwhelmingly in favor of the Choose How You Move Transportation Improvement Program. Team NDOT can’t wait to get started working on implementation of more sidewalks, upgraded signals, and safer streets in partnership with Mayor O’Connell’s office, WeGo Public Transit and other Metro agencies.

** Nashville Streetlight Retrofit Project
------------------------------------------------------------
Earlier this year we began to implement the Nashville Streetlight Retrofit Project (https://www.nashvillestreetlights.com/) in partnership with the Mayor's Office and Nashville Electric Service (NES). This project is an overhaul of our current system that will provide Nashvillians with brighter and safer roadways in alignment with Vision Zero (https://www.nashville.gov/departments/transportation/plans-and-programs/vision-zero) .
Conversions began in the northernmost areas of the City, with progress flowing clockwise throughout project phases. The conversion on Dickerson Pike was completed in February 2023.

Data shows that the number of nighttime crashes on Dickerson Pike between Grace Street and Westchester Drive for the same time periods in 2023 and 2024 has decreased. NDOT will be evaluating corridors as they are converted over a 3-5 year period to determine the true safety impact of Nashville's Street Light Retrofit Project.
